If you need an interpreter and have to be present in person somewhere, or if you are organizing an event on location, it is nice to have the interpreter there too. In this conversation setting, I like to interpret consecutively, translating what the conversation
partners say to each other.
If you need someone to translate what a speaker is saying to a larger audience, I am happy to interpret for you simultaneously, which can best be done from an interpreting booth. I translate everything and the listeners listen to it via a receiver with headphones. A booth can be quite expensive. That is why I also like to use my tourguide, which is is often a good alternative. Provided that the space is suitable and the interpreters do not disturb others,
we sit in the same room with a headworn microphone providing the audience with a second language to listen to.
Of course, you may also want people online to be able to listen in alongside those in the room. In that case, we use a second device so that the online audience can also benefit from the translation.
Here you can read about the possibilities for online interpreting.
